How do I change EVERYTHING a custom color on the Chat window?

So I’m trying to change the theme on my chat window but every time I change the theme it only shows the color on the outsides (such as the menu bar) but it doesn’t change the color on the inside (the middle part) How do I make the whole thing turn into a custom color?
This is on Windows live Messenger by the way. Thanks

It’s easy to change the color of your messenger:

Step 1

Sign into your Windows Live Messenger.

Step 2

On the toolbar above your contacts, click on the paint brush.

Step 3

There you will see the colors you can choose from. If you want more options, click more at the bottom.

Step 4

Click on the color you want and then click “OK.”
